1. Camera & OCR Processing

The Right Weigh mobile application requires camera access solely for on-device Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to read VINs, state modification plates, and physical weighbridge dockets. Image data is processed ephemerally on the device and is never stored, sold, or used for biometric profiling.

2. NEVDIS & Vehicle Telemetry

Chassis identifiers (VIN) and vehicle registration queries sent to https://rightweigh.app/api/v1/vin/lookup are matched against Australian vehicle registers strictly for the purpose of establishing GVM, GCM, and statutory axle limits. Data is securely cached to prevent redundant lookups.

3. Cryptographic Ledger Public Scans

When an authorized driver seals a manifest, an irreversible SHA-256 cryptographic hash is generated. Public inspection via /verify reveals only the vehicle registration, timestamp, freight mass, and compliance state necessary for statutory Chain of Responsibility verification under HVNL Section 26C.
